Quick answer

IW323744 is written in IWC's reference format: "IW" plus six digits. The 323x block sits in the Ingenieur family. IWC does not publish a catalog page for IW323744 as an exact string. Treat the number as a search term, not a confirmed model. A replica listing that uses it is selling a watch built to look like an Ingenieur Automatic, not a copy of a documented IW323744.

How IWC builds reference numbers

  • Prefix: IW, used on all modern references.
  • Middle digits: the model block. IW3239, IW3233, and IW3236 all fall in the Ingenieur Automatic range.
  • Last two digits: dial, strap, bracelet, or market variant.

So a number like IW323902 points to a variant inside the IW3239 block. IW323744 would point to a variant inside an IW3237 block. IWC catalogs list IW3233, IW3236, and IW3239. I found no IW3237 entry.

What replica listings usually show

Listings for this number repeat the same specs. Case diameter of 40 mm or 42 mm. Stainless steel case. Automatic movement. Sapphire crystal. Bracelet with an integrated lug design. IWC caliber 30110 is based on the ETA 2892-A2. Replicas in this tier often use a 2824 clone at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or a decorated 2892 copy.

Checks before you pay

  1. Case size. Measure against the stated number. Ingenieur Automatic cases sit near 40 mm.
  2. Bezel. The Ingenieur line uses a flat bezel with five recessed screws. Count them. Check that the slots line up with the screw centers.
  3. Dial text. Font weight, spacing, and the position of "Automatic" under the logo.
  4. Date window. Shape and position at 3 o'clock.
  5. Movement. Ask for a photo of the balance and rotor. Beat rate should read 28,800 vph on a timegrapher.
  6. Return policy. Get the terms in writing before payment.

Legal note

In the United States, 18 U.S.C. § 2320 covers trafficking in counterfeit goods. US Customs and Border Protection can seize counterfeit shipments. Resale carries more exposure than personal use.

What is unknown

There is no IWC spec sheet for IW323744. Without a caseback photo and a serial, the reference on any listing stays unconfirmed.
